Q: WHAT IS BEN RUSH ANNUAL GIVING (BRAG)?
Ben Rush Annual Giving, also known as BRAG, is the PTA’s primary fundraiser for the school year in November.

Q: WHAT IS THE “BRAG BOARD” AND HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
In this November Thanksgiving Month we are asking you to give back: Be generous with your comments (“brag”) and money (donate).
There will be a BRAG Board” at the school lobby where Parents, Students, Teachers & Staff can brag on what they love about Ben Rush, their classes, enrichment activities, teachers/staff and your kids. Please participate: How LOUD will you BRAG?
In December we will share some highlights through Cheetah Chat for parents and with the kids during the Spirit Assembly.

Q: HOW DOES YOUR DONATION HELP?

Your donation directly pays for the cost of Classroom Support & Education Enrichment and many more activities and resources impacting each student at Ben Rush that the school district and WA state do not fund.

Q: WHY DO WE HAVE FUNDRAISERS?
We have fundraisers because limited public school funds cannot provide all the resources and programs we want for our children. The PTA General Membership continues to prioritize Classroom Support and Education Enrichment as their main priorities. PTAs across the Lake Washington school district raise funds to cover these programs so our kids can enhance their education. We as parents need to invest in these programs through supporting the PTA.

Q: HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
The PTA’s fundraising goal for BRAG (Ben Rush Annual Giving) is $50,000. In order to cover the costs of the Classroom Support & Education Enrichment that will benefit your child, we are asking for a donation of $125 per student.
Donations larger or smaller are always appreciated and directly benefit your child’s education.
We strive for 100% participating; all dollars count!

Q: WHEN AND HOW SHOULD I GIVE?
Giving begins RIGHT NOW!
The BRAG fundraiser runs from November 1st through the end of November: to drive awareness to the budgeted programs and associated cost and the role of the PTA.
This year we have made our fundraising goal simple: donate once and participate all year.
There is no need to sell or buy any goods.
You can donate online via credit card, or you can drop off your cash or check payable to “Ben Rush PTA” into the PTA drop box (in the school office). All information will be kept confidential.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL?
If we do not meet our goal of $50,000, we will need to do additional fundraising in the Spring. We may also have to cut other curriculum enhancements such as field trips, STEM night, etc. that benefit our children.

Q: HOW DOES EMPLOYER MATCHING DONATIONS WORK? (Search for “Ben Rush PTA”)
If you or your spouse’s employer matches donations or volunteer time made to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, your donation could be doubled. Simply go to your company’s internal website and complete the necessary information. Please search for Ben Rush PTA (a 501(c)3 organization).

Q: CAN FAMILY MEMBERS OTHER THAN PARENTS SUPPORT BEN RUSH ANNUAL GIVING (BRAG)?
YES, please spread the word about BRAG to family members! We know that grandparents and other family members are proud of their Ben Rush student(s). If any of your family members would like to contribute to BRAG, they can submit a check or donate online.

Q: WHAT EXACTLY DOES MY DONATION PAY FOR?
The PTA’s annual budget for 2017-2018 is $116,970. The majority of the PTA’s funds go directly into programs that benefit your child.
The PTA organizes, manages and/or pays for the following:
Science & Math Enrichment|Young Author’s Day| Homework Program|Passport|Science Fair|Art Enrichment|Reflections|Field Trips|Health & Welfare|Assemblies|Water for portables|5th Grade Recognition|Peace Coaches & Safety Patrol|Student Scholarships|Field Day|Grade Level Socials|Family Fun Nights|Ice Cream Social|Cultural Activities…and many other things


How Do I Donate?

  • Online Donations preferred: click here to donate
  • Donating by Cash/Check: please make your check donation payable to “Ben Rush PTA”. You can drop the cash/check at the PTA Mail Box in the School Front Office or mail it to: Ben Rush PTA 6101 152nd Ave NE Redmond, WA 98052.
  • During the November BRAG Fundraiser, to count for Prizes please fill in the Donation Form

The Ben Rush PTA is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. 100% of your donation is tax deductible.
