After-School Enrichment

Spring 2017 After School Class Schedule

Our Winter/Spring session runs the beginning of February and ends the end of April for most classes, however some have different start/end dates so please be sure to note specific class dates within the descriptions.

No classes will be over mid-winter break or spring break.

Read details carefully for the class you wish to sign up for. We require parents to pick up their children on time. Be sure the class meets with your schedule before signing up!

Volunteering may be required to enroll in our after-school programs.

PTA-run after-school classes cannot happen without you!

Every child who is enrolled in an after-school class will be required to provide an adult volunteer to chaperone one or more days of the class. A chaperone is defined as an adult LWSD-approved PTA member. Your date to volunteer will be assigned prior to the start of each class. To fulfill this requirement you need to be an LWSD approved volunteer and PTA Member.

1) LWSD Volunteer Chaperones must be approved by the Lake Washington school district. Approval generally takes 2 weeks so please ensure that you submit your application early. Application forms can be found online here.

2) PTA member chaperones must be adult PTA members – join here.

Help the PTA and Benefit with reduced or free tuition for your child!

Discounts will be offered to one child in each of the classes below if their parent/guardian can attend every class.

This benefit is extended on a first-come, first-served basis.

If we do not have a volunteer for each class, we CANNOT RUN THE CLASS.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER AT THE AFTER-SCHOOL CLASSES!

Please email afterschool@benrushpta.org if you are interested in volunteering (first come, first serve) or for any other questions not answered on this page.

Mondays

Spanish

At Sponge, we see language as a passport to global citizenship. Students learn to see the world through a different lens while acquiring language skills and the confidence to use them.

Young learners are especially primed for language learning – research shows that students are 70% more likely to gain fluency when they begin in elementary school or younger. Classes will be immersion based, and taught by native speaker using games, art, drama and movement to help children build language skills! We believe the best way to learn a language is to be immersed in it and having fun!
