CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Mondays

Code Jr.

Does your kid love robots or animations? TechVenture’s Code Camp Jr. provides younger children with an introduction to technology. Children work with a partner to complete hands-on projects using SCRATCH Jr to program their own interactive stories using tablet computers. Taking it a step further, children partner together to work with Robots, programming their bots to put on a dance party, navigate paths and more. In the process they learn to solve problems, design projects and express themselves creatively! They develop age-appropriate math and problem-solving skills. Girls and boys learn to write a set of instructions, code, to control their environment. Unplugged activities get kid’s bodies moving and thinking too!

 FRIDAYS

SPANISH

At Sponge (https://spongeschool.com/program-overview/elementary-school-k-5th-grades/), we see language as a passport to global citizenship. Students learn to see the world through a different lens while acquiring language skills and the confidence to use them.

Young learners are especially primed for language learning – research shows that students are 70% more likely to gain fluency when they begin in elementary school or younger. Classes will be immersion based, and taught by native speaker using games, art, drama and movement to help children build language skills! We believe the best way to learn a language is to be immersed in it and having fun!

We welcome both continuing students and new students, because our curriculum is theme based, and this session will be a different theme than fall. We also have different key phrases each class.
