Spelling Bee

Ben Rush Spelling Bee is designed after the Scripps National Spelling Bee. It is a great program designed to help students increase their vocabulary and learn how to compete with peers in a safe and supportive environment.

The program is open to all students in grades 1 – 5. Students must register to participate in this program.

The registration fee covers enrollment, a participation certificate, and entry into the Written test and Final School Spelling Bee. Students will receive a word list for preparation and will meet once a month for practice rounds.

  • Monthly sessions: 3:30 – 4:30pm on Thurs Oct 18th, Nov 15th, Dec 13th and Jan 17th
  • Written round: 6:30 – 8:30pm on Thurs, Jan 24th
  • Final round: 6:30 – 8:30pm on Thurs, Feb 21st

The school winner will represent the school for the regional competition in Seattle.
