PTA organizes before and after school enrichment program twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. We are thrilled to be able to drive this extracurricular program that offers additional academic, physical, and social development of our elementary students after school hours.

Experienced Band
Students already familiar with the basics of their instrument (clarinet, flute, trumpet, or trombone) will build on their knowledge, teamwork, confidence, and continue a lifelong love of music! Experienced Band includes 26 rehearsals before school and 2 evening concerts (winter and spring). Let's make some beautiful music together!
*Students must provide their own instrument, collapsible music stand, and music composition book. Affordable instrument rentals are available at most local music shops. We want everyone to participate! Scholarships available: contact Counselor Lloyd Byram.

Intermediate Choir
Any 3-5th grader at Rush can join the Ben Rush Intermediate Choir! We will learn varied repertoire in preparation for our many concerts throughout the year, including the incredible Thunderbirds Hockey Game experience, where we sing on the ice before the game for fans!

Learn to play a real instrument! Beginner Orchestra is the perfect place for students to get started with cello, violin, or viola. Snapology: Creature Creators
In Snapology's Creature Creator program, your animal lover will build a variety of robotic creatures that respond to each of their programmed commands. While working with a partner to solve various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges. It's going to be a RAWR-ing good time!

Pickleball Club with Mrs. Scott and Ms. Holycross
Join us for an exciting After-School Pickleball Club, where 4th and 5th graders can learn and enjoy the fast-growing sport of pickleball! Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this club is a great way to develop skills, stay active, and have fun with friends.
No equipment? No problem! Paddles and balls will be provided. Just wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, and get ready to have fun on the court!

Crochet Club with Mrs. Lunbeck and Mrs. Cox
Ready to get loopy? If so, Crochet Club is for you! Crochet is a crafting technique which uses a hook and yarn to create interlocking loops in order to make fabric creations. You can crochet scarves, hats, potholders, blankets, sweaters, and even stuffed animals!!! The possibilities are endless. This class will teach the basics of crocheting including techniques to start and end projects, how to follow a crochet pattern, and all students will be working toward a creation or creations of their own.

STEM Odyssey - By MadScience of Sno-King
Mad Science STEM Odyssey is more than a class—it’s an adventure into the wonders of life and physical sciences! Animals in Art - By Smart with Art
Join Smart with Art as we go on an amazing animal adventure! Learn fun animal facts while discovering new drawing skills and techniques throughout this engaging art session. Students will work with a variety of mediums including watercolors, collage, oil pastels, printmaking and more! Don’t forget to dress for mess!
Animation Studio - By Snapology
Who doesn’t love an action-packed animation movie that brings our favorite toys to life? In Snapology’s Animation Studio program, students get to do more than just enjoy those movies, they get to create them! In this technical program, children will work in teams to learn the fundamentals of stop motion animation and develop their own animated movie starring some of their favorite LEGO® mini-figures! Students will go through the entire movie making process with their filming partner, from plot development and set design to detailed visual and audio editing. The best part, their movie will go beyond the classroom and be uploaded to Snapology’s YouTube channel so they can share their film with friends and family for years to come!

Badminton - With Mr. Overland and Mr. Wilson
Want to learn how to play the world’s fastest racket sport? Join Mr. Wilson and Mr. Overland as students learn how to serve, clear, drop, and smash. Additionally, students will learn sportsmanship, common badminton etiquette, and how to keep score. The class ends with a fun tournament!
