The National PTA Reflections Program invites Ben Rush students to explore their creativity and share what culture means to them through the arts.
Culture might include family traditions, language, food, music, celebrations, stories, meaningful places, community, everyday experiences—or something completely personal.
There is no single correct interpretation. We want students to express their own ideas, in their own voice and through their own art.
Choose How You Want to Create
Ben Rush students may submit original work in one or more of these categories:
Visual Arts
Literature
Dance Choreography
Deadline for Entries : Friday, October 23, 2026
What Every Entry Will Need
Original work created by the student
A clear connection to the theme, What My Culture Means to Me
A unique title
An Artist Statement of 10–100 words explaining the work and its connection to the theme
Parents and teachers may encourage students, explain the rules, and provide permitted technical help. The ideas and creative decisions must come from the student.
Looking for Inspiration?
Students can begin by thinking about:
Which traditions, people, stories, or places are important to me?
Which languages, foods, celebrations, music, or everyday experiences help shape who I am?
Do I belong to more than one culture?
What would I like others to understand about my culture?

The Accessible Arts Division is available for students who participate with allowable accommodations.
Selected entries may advance to the next level of the PTA Reflections program.
